Following the previous experiences in ‘my’ lake, I decided to investigate whether the IJsselmeer was more suitable for snorkeling and drawing. I was hoping for both more depth and underwater life. I recorded a few timelapses at that location in the IJsselmeer. There was no underwater life visible. And then the depth? I held my breath. But anyway: If you don’t shoot, you’ll never hit the target.

I had read an appropriate quote in a book by John Muir Laws.
“I have not failed. I have just found 10,000 ways that don’t work”
– Thomas A. Edison

Einstein once said the same thing with the words: “Without failure, no success”.
Personally, I find Edison’s saying more accurate and friendly.

The depth for my snorkeling session remained stuck at 1 meter for a long time. That was too far to swim or walk to make it attractive. So I decided to look for a location a bit further away. I went to Vinkeveen. I know that area from my dives. It is deeper there and still good visibility.
Hopefully some underwater life would be visible there by now. I had two new goals:

1) Filming while I was actually drawing underwater life.
2) Testing a new type of (cheaper) waterproof paper

So enjoy my next test:
